San Diego Leather Pride, Inc. and LeatherWoman Productions are pleased to
announce that Christi Campbell is the new Ms San Diego Leather 2009. The
festivities took place on Saturday, March 14th, at Rich's in San Diego.
While Christi was the only contestant this year, she was still required to
score at least 70% of the total available points, which she definitely did.
We are very proud of her and look forward to working with her throughout
this coming year.
Once again, the amazing and beautiful Ultra graced the stage as our emcee.
She kept the audience in stitches telling really bad jokes and making her
customary commentary on life in the leather community. In addition, she once
again made sure that the event ran smoothly and ended right on time. And,
of course, she had on a fabulous hat!! Love Ultra's hats.
Our judging panel this year was very dedicated and diverse and was made up
of:
Head Judge: Joan Norry, American Leatherwoman 2008
Allissa Mae, Ms San Diego Leather 2007
The Lady Ajax of the Imperial Court de San Diego
Ellie, the facilitator of the San Diego Next Generation group
Bill Freyer of Pleasures and Treasures (a wonderful leather store in San
Diego)
Annette Johns, an esteemed member of the San Diego Leather Community
Michael Ferguson, Mr. Bear San Diego 2009 and our community judge pick
The panel did their customary "grilling" of the contestant on Saturday
morning and then got to have fun watching her do her onstage question and
fantasy, as well as give a very well thought out and delivered speech.
There was also a silent auction available for the attendees shopping
pleasure that included some incredible works of art, along with leather toys
and one very popular bondage bench.
All in all, it was a fun evening for everyone involved and the producers
want to thank everyone that came out to join us.
Again, we want to congratulate Christi on her successful run for Ms San
Diego Leather 2009 and we wish her much success throughout her year.
